So apparently Alien Ness has legal rights to "The Octagon", go figure right? We could tweak it a little bit and do something similar, but I figure we will just keept TTGV simple and have more time for cyphers.

He has "legal rights" to the octagon....What did he copyright a battle format? Did he copyright or trademark the name? :roll:

Did his lawyers contact you?

Ness can't copyright a shape. It's a shape.

Made of cones and tape.

Yea, we were thinking of doing a pentagon battle, but screw it, we'll just do an exhibition instead. As dumb as it is, it's not worth it to cause any problems.

^^^ Not hatin', but since when did Ness ever care about what Seattle did anyhow? I think its worth the trouble so people know what our scene is up to. Besides, to copyright an obstacle course is the same as copyrighting a king of the hill or seven2smoke. Big deal!!! :lol:

^ It's the same as those things - except that you can't copyright any of those things. Ideas, methods, or procedures cannot be legally copyrighted.

I'm sure in his imagination you can copyright a bunch of shit. We wouldn't want to get served an imaginary lawsuit in an imaginary legal system.

yo lunatic - ideas, methods, and procedures can be copyrighted. Here's what can be copyrighted.

Copyrightable Works Include the Following Categories

* literary works
* musical works, including any accompanying words
* dramatic works, including any accompanying music
* pantomimes and choreographic works
* pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works
* motion pictures and other audiovisual works
* sound recordings
* architectural works

But sean is right....I think it should be discussed so we can know what's going on in the scene.
